there are people in this world who have a warmth and light about them. time in their presence is simultaneously calming and rejuvenating. what a gift to capture this piece of their story. anna told me in her initial email that while they were dating their love felt like theirs and theirs alone. they didn’t intend to keep it hidden. but time together was a refuge from the world. their relationship unfolded slow and steady, giving them full confidence they had chosen the right person by the time they got engaged. they finally shared that love with all of their friends and family last fall in des moines. the details were chosen carefully and reflected their intentionality in everything they do. it came together beautifully. what an honor to photograph it for them. this day will stick with me for a long time.
